Assistant Controller

Job Description:
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Support the preparation of investor reporting, including NAV calculations and performance metrics.
- Accounting & Operations:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations.
- Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and tax preparations.
- Fund Accounting:
- Perform daily and monthly fund accounting tasks, including trade settlement, portfolio valuation, and expense allocation.
- Monitor and reconcile portfolio positions, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Assist in developing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support the implementation of new accounting standards and regulations as they arise.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the finance and accounting functions.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to implement system enhancements and upgrades.
- Ad-Hoc Projects:
- Participate in special projects and analyses as required by senior management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance,
- Experience: 3-6 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hedge fund or asset management industry.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and hedge fund accounting principles.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems, such as QuickBooks, Excel, and specialized hedge fund accounting platforms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
