Associate - Investment Team

Job Description

  • Assist with the screening of potential deal opportunities, including evaluating a target’s potential attractiveness as an investment. They will learn how to interact with leadership teams and how to familiarize oneself with various business models.
  • Support internal investment teams with modeling to value the target, including leveraged buyout analyses, comparable company and transaction analyses, and other valuation techniques. They will advance their existing foundation for building and presenting a private equity model.
  • Work closely with peers to perform primary and secondary research with respect to a target’s industry, including analysis of competitors, vendors, and customers. They will develop and refine their investment knowledge as well as an ability to analyze companies and opportunities.
  • Identify and develop investment relevant themes and theses, as well as pipelines for acquisition, with ultimate presentation of those themes, thesis and targets to Partners of the Firm and the Investment Committee.


Qualifications

  • Proactive and ambitious attitude with an insatiable curiosity and a drive for continuous learning and growth.
  • Highly motivated, intelligent, and has a sincere interest in sustainable food-chain investing.
  • 3-5 years of total work experience, in a related field
  • A team player as well as a self-starter, resourceful, and entrepreneurial, with a positive, “can do” attitude – no task should be too big or too small for him/her.
  • They must not only possess a collegial attitude, but also demonstrate the ability to lead and develop others, as success at the firm is measured in part by an ability to make those around you better.
  • The successful candidate will have superior analytical skills, excellent writing and research skills, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting and finance principles. It is important that they have both the willingness and demonstrated ability to assist throughout the investment process, including: all aspects of front-end sourcing, analysis and due diligence of potential investment opportunities, structuring and negotiating investments, and the ability to manage others during this process.
  • The successful candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills and the presence, maturity, charisma, and communication skills to establish credibility and inspire confidence both inside and outside of the firm.
  • Will have an exceptional work ethic as well as a background reflecting a high level of achievement, both academically and professionally.
