Job Description:
· Manage the firm’s finance staff domestically and internationally. Identify, attract, and retain exceptional talent and manage the team’s professional development. Cultivate a culture of inclusion, knowledge sharing, and team-based success.
· Monitor available capital, recycling, and capital requirements at each stage of each fund’s life-cycle. Oversee distributions, performance calculations (IRR/MOIC/DPI), gross-to-net spread analysis, management fees, carried interest, allocation and expense policies.
· Manage the firm’s compliance with its Allocation Policies to ensure proper allocation of expenses and investments across each of the funds.
· Maintain performance reporting for all funds.
· Responsible for the drafting, maintenance, and adherence to the firm’s policy for valuation. Responsible for the assessment and selection of third-party valuation agents, if applicable. Chair the firm’s valuation committee.
· Extensive experience with US pass-through investment and fund structures, accommodating tax preferences of pensions, tax-exempt, and foreign investors. Assess risks and implement foreign tax strategies.
· Manage all firm treasury operations, including cash management, liquidity management, multiple banking relationships and foreign exchange risk management.
· Negotiate debt financing and capital call credit facilities.
· Coordinate with the firm’s external auditor to manage audits, negotiate fees, and ensure audits are completed.
· Supervise annual tax filings.
· Partner with the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer and support the financial aspects of the firm’s compliance program, including Registered Investment Advisor registration as well as compliance with insider trading and anti-money laundering policies. Partner with the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer to complete audits by the SEC.
· Monitor ILPA and SEC initiatives. Cultivate relationships with peers and keep current on industry trends.
· Present to each fund’s LPAC and foster trusted relationships with investors. Participate in the preparation of annual investor meeting materials and the creation of bespoke investor reporting
· Support the firm’s investor relations team – participating in fundraising, due diligence, investor questionnaires and, where applicable, side letter negotiations, and responding to inquiries regarding UBTI, ECI, FIRPTA and other tax consequences for ERISA and offshore investors.
· Evaluate technology solutions tailored to the asset management industry; implement CRM and valuation systems.
