Responsibilities
- Fund Accounting Duties:
- Manage monthly fund and SMAs account NAV & performance process
- Maintain daily shadow accounting of administrators’ books and records
- Prepare monthly tri-party position, cash, asset valuations and accrual reconciliations
- Calculating management fees, performance fees, and other fund expenses
- Preparing invoices and managing payment schedules
- Partnering with administrators and investment managers to produce monthly NAV packages and financial statements
- Build and maintain fund accrual schedules
- Preparing and managing the subscription and redemption documents for SMAs and Funds
- Assisting with year-end audits and financial statements preparation
- Act as backup for the MO analyst when required, including the preparation of T+1 positions and trade reconciliations between the manager and the prime brokers. Collaborate with prime brokers to resolve any trade breaks efficiently and effectively, ensuring seamless operations.
- Assisting with ad hoc projects and business process improvements
- Management Company Duties:
- Maintain updated books and records on Quick Books
- Receive vendor invoices via group e-mail, control and process via Bill.com
- Control and process timely bill payments through Bill.com
- Prepare monthly R&D expense invoices for fund and SMAs
- Prepare monthly management fees invoices for fund and SMAs
- Perform monthly cash reconciliation
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for management and year-end package to provide tax preparer
Qualifications
- BS/BA in accounting or finance
- 2-5years experience in fund operations, fund accounting, or middle office functions in a hedge fund, fund administrator, or audit firm
- Strong familiarity with the trade lifecycle and relevant controls
- Strong knowledge with exchange traded derivatives (i.e. futures and options on futures) and equities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of commodity funds or CTAs
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to build relationships both internally and externally
- Strong computer skills: Advanced Excel, Portfolio Accounting Systems (Enfusion) preferred
- Familiarity with Quickbook Online or other accounting packages a plus
