Job Description

Investment manager for approximately $2.5 billion of AUM in search of an accountant with 8-12 years of public company experience to lead accounting, tax and reporting efforts for a newly formed public company in Greenwich, CT. This role will report directly to the CFO.

Roles and Responsibilities are listed below:

  • Oversee accounting and cash flows for a portfolio of approximately 4,000 loans on investment accounting software.
  • Detailed accounting and review of reconciliations.
  • Calculation and tracking of accrued interest, paid interest and interest writeoffs
  • Calculation of realized and unrealized gains and losses
  • Tracking of loan paydowns, writeoffs and foreclosures
  • Oversee accounting and cash flows for a portfolio of intangible assets and fixed assets as well as an investment in joint venture.
  • Detailed accounting and review of reconciliations
  • Calculation of realized and unrealized gains
  • Lease accounting knowledge required
  • Fixed asset depreciation accounting required
  • Knowledge and accounting experience for M&A activity a plus
  • Financial statement consolidation required
  • Oversee expense process
  • Oversee and review calculation of tax provision
  • Work with historical results and investment analysts to prepare budgets and assist in the creation of board packages and earnings call materials
  • Assist investor relations in financial-related questions
  • Provide support to investor relations and marketing, including help in preparing marketing deck for secondary offering
  • Prepare a cash budget to share with the CEO and investment team on an ongoing basis as part of FP&A
  • Prepare monthly close packages for internal audit
  • Maintain SOX documentation for accounting controls (i.e. closings, cash movements, reconciliation review, etc.)
  • Point person for all audit and tax-related activity with outside accountants
  • Point person for and preparation of 10Q, 10K, 8K and all regulatory filings, in conjunction with legal department and third-party providers. (This experience is required.)


The ideal candidate will be experienced, entrepreneurial, and have a desire to look at the big picture, while contributing on both a detailed and high level. Required characteristics as follows:

  • 8-13 years
  • CPA preferred
  • Both public accounting and industry accounting experience for a public company
  • Knowledge of PCAOB accounting standards, technical accounting and ability to identify technical accounting issues
  • Experience with enterprise accounting software (i.e Quickbooks and/or NetSuite) a plus
  • Experience with SOX control testing
  • 10Q, 10K, 8K, and experience with other regulatory filings
  • Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements
  • Experience preparing and reviewing board packages a plus
  • Tax experience/knowledge preferred
