Director of Tax

Job Description

• Tax focused role 
• Review workpapers 
• K1s 
• Assess where tax savings exist across funds and Management company (currently pay large fees to law firm for this tax advice) 
• Management co is complex - pass thru expenses to LPs in some of the SMAs, fund has management fee 
• Assist CFO with accounting, operations, management co, compliance (they do not have a Controller) 
• Financial statements are complex 
• Ad hoc requests 

Qualifications 

• Experienced with: 
• 1256/988 tax elections (on a security by security vs. a blanket election) 
• 1092 elections 
• Review of K-1’s, etc 
• Knows tax elections 
• PTEP experience - allows partners to pay tax burden thru hedge fund manager (became law 2021)
