Finance Associate

Job Description
- Assist with all aspects of fund accounting, reporting, valuation, and operations.
- Assist in preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly internal reporting to senior management.
- Assist with year-end audits and tax preparation, including compilation of financial statements and footnotes, recalculating, and reviewing prepared tax documents, and ensuring all aspects are completed within preset timelines.
- Assist in review of month-end external performance reporting & net asset value calculations.
- Monthly & quarterly fund closings including partner income allocations, fee calculations, portfolio reconciliations, dividend reconciliations and interaction with outside administrator to reconcile books.
- Work with outsourced operations teams to process portfolio activity across all funds.
- Work closely with Portfolio Managers on credit-related events.
- Perform ad-hoc projects and requests
- Assist in preparation of regulatory filings.
- Participate in and contribute to initiatives related to process improvement.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of finance & accounting experience in the investment management / fund industry.
- Bachelor’s degree with strong academic record.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Fundamental understanding of fund structures (open and closed-ended), partnership allocations, waterfalls and associated operational mechanics, experience with credit instruments such as bonds, bank loans and revolvers is critical to the role.
- Experience working with Advent Geneva or similar accounting systems is preferred.
