Company Description
Our client is a New York City-based, Asia and China-focused asset management firm with approximately $2 billion under management. The firm was founded in 2011 and has over 25 full time employees. They manage an equity long/short hedge fund and also have private equity exposure.
Requirements
-2-3 years of public accounting experience with a focus on hedge funds
-Licensed CPA preferred
-Strong academics and strong rating at current firm
-Detailed and organized
-Good knowledge of excel with willingness to learn at a higher level
-Creative thinker
Job description
-Responsibilities cover all aspects of the firm’s accounting, operations, reporting and compliance
-Will work directly with accounting, operations, and legal team
-Work closely with administrator, prime brokers, auditor, tax advisor, legal counsel
-Responsible for accounting matters such as position and cash recs, working with administrator on monthly accounting process, and ad hoc matters
-Operational responsibilities include all aspects of trade lifecycle, equity and derivative products, and P&L reconciliations
- Reporting responsibilities include performing internal daily, monthly and ad hoc reporting to Founder, COO, CFO, Controllers, and Traders
-Involvement with ongoing and future internal projects; current examples include using technology to improve effectiveness and efficiencies on ongoing processes and enhancing internal and investor level reporting
-Continually liaise with industry experts around the company’s infrastructure and maintaining a best practice operation
-Help with investor reporting and investor requests
