Head of Reporting
Job Description:
A successful executive (“Principal”) is seeking an adaptable, honest, and self-sufficient individual with an entrepreneurial spirit to assist the current Managing Director in developing and running the Principal’s family office. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with a successful business leader and their family, and to help them extend their reach and effect change through their personal investments and philanthropy. In this role, you will work directly with the office’s Managing Director. You will also be responsible for managing a junior accountant on staff and any future accounting professionals.
In this role, you will work closely with the Managing Director and external professional service providers to address issues ranging from tax, asset allocation, legal and personal matters.
This role is ideal for someone who has 12 + years’ experience in Accounting or related area, has obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Tax and wants to gain unique, hands-on experience across a variety of related areas.
The responsibilities of this role will be broad and varied and include:
· Assist Managing Director in developing procedures and processes to support family office strategic investment and operational plan
· Coordinate and preparation of financial statements, and periodic portfolio reports
· Supervise day-to-day management of the accounts payable function for vendor management and other services.
· Track status of, manage, and deliver significant ad-hoc projects with oversight of the Managing Director
· Oversight of corporate GLs; quarterly review and consolidation for Board of Director’s reporting package.
· Record and reconcile (monthly) corporate portfolio activity in GL as well as payroll and benefits activity.
· Recordkeeping and administration of individual client assets across multiple platforms
· . Prepare cashflows and projections for family members and trusts to ensure liquidity needs are met.
· Prepare cash flow report for family members including consolidations across reporting platforms
· Coordination with outside CPA firms on all matters relating to tax information gathering, tax notices, estimated tax payments.

Additional qualifications are as follows:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Tax from a top university and a strong academic record
· 12+ years’ prior experience in accounting or related area within financial services
· Excellent communication skills (writing and speaking)
· Strong technology skills (Microsoft Excel, Quickbooks, Office Suite). Experience with a reporting software is a plus (SAGE, Addepar)
· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is a plus
· Strong interest in business operations, finance, and investing
· Quantitative background
· Demonstrated experience in being flexible and resourceful within a complex and lean environment.
· Experience and/or exposure to real estate, tax and/or investment activities is a plus.
· Experience supervising bookkeepers and accountants
