Operations Associate

Summary
Our client is seeking an Operations Associate to join their Operations team. The individual will join a highly collaborative operations team and have exposure to a wide variety of products, processes and teams across the organization. Familiarity with a range of financial instruments, including credit facilities, structured credit, syndicated and private loans, and repos is essential due to the growth and increased complexities the firm has experienced in fixed income and financing facilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing, reconciling, and processing activity (repo rolls, credit events, etc.) across the firm’s various portfolios consisting of structured credit, repos, loans, and other fixed income products
- Work with our Administrators and Prime Brokers to help reconcile cash, positions, and P&L. The firm performs a full shadow of books and records to admin.
- Help develop best in class processes and procedures as the firm continues to grow in AUM and complexity. This includes increasing efficiencies and automating where possible.
- Assist with daily trade management workflow including trade entry, portfolio pricing and entity allocations
- Interact frequently with various internal teams, third party service providers, third party overseas Operations team, various banks and counterparties
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or a relevant field
- 3-5 years of experience in the financial services industry, relevant fund experience and/or administrator experience preferred
- Specific knowledge of financial instruments including credit facilities, structured credit, syndicated and private loans, and repos
- Proactive with a mindset for automation and process enhancement
- High technical comfort level with systems and technology: working knowledge of FIS VPM, IVP products, PortfolioBI’s OMS, reconciliation systems, various Citco systems, CTM/ALERT a plus. Advanced Excel skills preferred
- Comfortable communicating directly with a diverse group of internal and external contacts at all levels of the organization. Previous work directly with or at an administrator preferred.
