Senior Fund Accountant

Job Description 

This role offers the unique opportunity to gain exposure to both private equity and family office world. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Assistant Controller and work closely with the CFO. Primary responsibilities are as follows: 

 

Private Equity Business 

  • Fund Accounting: Prepare capital call & distribution, prepare quarterly investor allocation (including management fee calculation, waterfall, etc.) for 7 main funds and review quarterly NAV packages produced by fund administrator. Work closely with auditors, tax preparers and compliance advisors.  
  • Management Company Accounting: review monthly expense allocations prepared by executive assistants, review quarterly financials prepared by the administrator. Oversee expense reimbursement, bill payment and cash management.  
  • Compliance: Assist with SEC filings such as ADV, Form PF, AUM calculation. On-going compliance monitoring such as restricted list, pre-clearance, reviewing quarterly transactions reporting. 
  • Ad Hoc: address investor requests, budget and forecast, performance tracking, ad-hoc analysis, etc. 

 

Family Office Business 

  • Investment Management: monitor 80+ private investments, track investment performance, process new investments, manage capital calls/distributions. 
  • Accounting and Reporting: manage various family office investment vehicles, oversee bill pay process, work closely with best-in-class software solution firm to design processes, generate quarterly package and ad-hoc reports. 
  • Estate Planning: assist in a wide array of estate planning matters such as trust management, tax strategy, exposure to various estate planning vehicles such as GRAT, CLAT, etc. 
  • Philanthropy: manage charitable donations, private foundation and donor advised funds; opportunity to get involved in philanthropic projects. 
  • Property Management: review real estate property expenses and assist with property acquisitions, tracking, and sales. 
  • Projects: Opportunity to work on special projects such as the ongoing software integration to digitize the family office. 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting 
  • 3-6 years of Accounting/Finance experience, private equity fund accounting experience preferred 
  • Strong technical background, attention to detail 
  • Self-starter, proactive approach, desire to take ownership and get involved across multiple fields 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced professional environment and handle multiple projects and deadlines
