- Requirements Include
- 5-7 years working in a valuation-type or analysis role in the alternative asset management industry (asset manager, consulting firm, accounting firm, etc.)
- Strong understanding of valuation concepts and ability to apply them directly and consistently across disparate investment types
- Strong modelling skills in Excel and presentation skills in PowerPoint
- Experience creating and executing end-to-end analysis and reporting processes
- Highly analytical and detail-oriented: Ability to intake many inputs and disparate data and be able to form cohesive and concise insights
- Strong communication skills; clear and concise presentation to all stakeholders
- Ability to bring best-practices around key processes, technology solutions, outsourced service providers
- CFA preferred
Valuation
- Coordinate with investment and portfolio company management teams to collect all relevant information and insights
- Lead the quarterly valuation process across all business investments, which includes a broad swatch of the alternative investment world, from early-stage investing to leveraged buy-outs, to platform companies, to debt investments
- Build and maintain complex financial models using various intrinsic and market-based financial analyses (discounted cash flow, market multiple, option pricing model, etc) in accordance with industry best-practices and GAAP accounting standards (ASC 820 Fair Value guidance)
- Present quarterly fair value conclusions of privately held equity, debt, and other complex corporate securities to Valuation Committee(s)
- Create clear and concise presentations to effectively communicate insights to all stakeholders (Valuation Committee members, auditors, limited partners, etc)
- Lead the year-end audit valuation testing by responding to audit inquiries relating to valuation models and related documentation
- Manage relationship with third-party valuation specialists
- Implement technology solutions where possible to facilitate efficiency and value-add analytics
- Investor Performance & Reporting
- Maintain company performance metrics and valuation analytics on a centralized platform
- Design & deliver institutional-quality quarterly investor reporting to limited partners
- Review and update Fund reports and Marketing materials sent to existing/potential investors.
- Work cross-functionally with accounting, investment teams, CIO, and legal to communicate results, direction, and insights to investors

- Generate detailed materials, analyses, and responses for Investor meetings, inquires and surveys
- Develop a deep technical strength in the valuation of alternative assets, serving as a firm resource that can be leveraged for advisory valuation services to various business units
