  Department Description 

The Fund Accounting team’s primary responsibility is the books and records of the firm’s funds and SMA. This responsibility     includes oversight, review and reconciliation of the books and records with internal teams including Middle Office, Investment Data Management, and Asset Management / Valuation as well as with Clearwater Managed Services. This responsibility includes calculating Statutory Accounting book value and book yield for existing and new Insurance mandates. In addition to the core books and records, Fund Accounting works closely with Legal on fund setup and operation, with Product Specialist and Investor Relations on ongoing and ad hoc analysis and with the Firm’s Management Company Accounting on AUM, fee reporting and revenue recognition. 

   Position Description 

The Vice President of Statutory Accounting performs an integral role within the Fund Accounting team, focusing on servicing our Insurance clients by providing accurate and timely book value and book yield for Investments on our Insurance client’s books. 

  Responsibilities 

Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: 

  • Lead the implementation of the Clearwater managed services platform focusing on accurate and timely Statutory Accounting book value and book yield for existing and new Insurance mandates 
  • Act as the resident expert in Statutory Accounting providing guidance to the management team and the Insurance clients 
  • Work closely with the Middle Office and Investment Data Management teams to ensure accurate Security Master files are communicated to Insurance Clients on a regular basis 
  • Reconcile the Statutory Accounting books maintained by the firm with Insurance client books monthly 

 

  • Review of the management fee calculation prepared by the Clearwater Statutory Accounting managed services team and ensure proper billing is sent to clients that is both timely and accurate 
  • Continue to focus on building out reporting services for new and existing Insurance clients, with a focus on timely and accurate data 
  • Report management fee revenues, Assets Under Management (“AUM”) and other key metrics to the firm for timely and accurate quarterly firm reporting. 
  • Ad hoc reporting and projects 

 

  Candidate Profile 

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience in a Statutory Accounting role 
  • Accounting degree preferred 
  • CPA preferred
